Questions?

Checking In:

You MUST check in on the sign up book which is located in music box. If you have a question ask your coach or any of the other coaches to help you sign in. If you plan to practice with your music place it on the boards in order near the CD player.

Buying on:

Buy ons will be allowed on a first come, first served basis. Club members may sign up (in the monitor book) to buy on up to one week in advance if space is available. However, you must check in and pay prior to the beginning of the session or risk losing your ice. You must pay before you skate. The rates for the sessions.  can be found in the PFSC  and SQSA Ice Sign in  Book. If you subsequently purchase an ice contract, credit will be given for only one session of buy on ice.

Where to do what:

  1. Program Skater Has the Right of Way
Whether or not  wearing the bright neon sash, the skater performing his or her program to their music has the right of way. This means that you must move out of the way of this skater. You do not finish what you are doing, you just move. A skater wearing the sash must be skating their program, not practicing. If you will be the next skater to wear the sash, you should be ready at the boards.

  2. Spins
Unless you are performing your program, ALL SPINS are in the CENTER of the ICE.
  3. Jumps
Unless you are performing your program, ALL JUMPS are at either END of the ICE. Make sure you leave enough room so that other skaters can get around you.
  4. Movement on the Ice
If you are not moving, then you must be standing at the boards or off the ice. If you are on the ice, your back should be to the boards and your eyes on the ice. All talking is between you and your coach. All chatting with friends is done off the ice. If you fall down, get up as quickly as possible. Lying or sitting on the ice is dangerous to you and the other skaters.
  5. Respect and Attitude on the Ice
Be respectful to your fellow skaters, coaches and the Rink Parents. Kicking or stomping on the ice is not tolerated. Swearing or any foul language is unacceptable. If you are an older skater, keep in mind that the younger skaters are watching you. Be a good role model.
  6. You must have a coach supervise the use of any harness.
  7. If you a practicing a program that requires props, please check with a coach first.  Then have another skater stay with the prop and remove it from the ice as soon as possible.

Music

•  Play music in the Proper Order. Skaters should place their music  in order of check in along the boards near the CD player and play their music in order, respecting the line up and be fair about allowing the remaining skaters to get their music played before getting your tape played a second time

•  Coaches may "bump" music so that a skater taking a lesson can have his or her CD played next. This counts as that skater's turn during that order. Similarly a skater's coach may have that skater's second time CD be played during the first round of music.

Right of way:

Skaters skating their program  to their music have the right of way.

Right of way rules in order of priority:
• Skaters skating the program to their music have the right of way.
• Skaters setting up for a jump or spin have the right of way.
• Skaters on the harness have the right of way.
